Made for attorneys 1 to 10 years out of law school, this specially curated program is to create community for rising attorneys in the legal and professional world.   Emerging Attorneys will be chaired by Josh Marcus and sessions moderated by Mark Pelavin. 

Joshua Marcus, Chair of Emerging Attorneys Program. Joshua Marcus, along with his wife Debra and son Ross, are life-long members of Temple Beth El. Joshua is a member of the Temple’s Board of Trustees and sits on the Finance and Leadership and Governance Advisory Groups. Joshua is General Counsel of LendingOne, a technology focused, national private real estate lender based in Boca Raton, FL. Joshua heads LendingOne's legal, compliance, and servicing efforts, and plays an integral role in its portfolio and asset management matters. Joshua earned a B.B.A. in finance and business law from Emory University’s Goizueta Business School and a J.D., magna cum laude, from the University of Miami School of Law.

Mark Pelavin, Emerging Attorneys Session Leader. Mark Pelavin’s career has placed him at the intersection of strategic communications and public policy, working at the highest levels to advance progressive values and build strong institutions. He was a senior professional for the Reform Jewish Movement, the largest denomination in North American Jewish Life, for over 25 years serving as Director of its Commission on Social Action, Associate Director of the Religious Action Center, Director of the Commission on Interreligious Affairs, and, later, as Senior Advisor to the President of the Union for Reform Judaism (URJ) and as the URJ’s Chief Program OfficerMark has always played a key role building coalitions and helping new organizations get off the ground.
