We will speak with Israeli experts on range of subjects from espionage to graffiti to language to medicine. We will learn about their work, and the impact Covid has had on Israeli society and culture overall.

    Israeli Medicine and Covid

    Join us to learn about MDA’s plasma project and their role in Israel’s response to Covid, including the building of an underground blood center.     
    Prof. Eilat Shinar is the director of Magen David Adom National Blood Services in Israel since 1997 and is a graduate of Hebrew University and Hadassah Medical Center in Jerusalem, where she worked as a specialist in hematologyoncology.

  • February 23 - Professor Steven Fassberg, Hebrew Language Academy
    Creation of Hebrew Words & Purim

    How does an ancient language express modern words like computer, electricity and tissue? That’s been the job of Israel’s Hebrew Language Academy. With the proximity to Purim,  Dr. Fassberg will also teach the origin and meaning of Hebrew words related to Purim.
