HONORING OUR STARS

Jan and Allen Lev Temple Beth El of Boca Raton Beth El Bash

GUIDING STARS - Jan and Allen Lev have found their nineteen years of TBE membership to be filled with friendship, spirituality, and learning.  Allen is currently a member of the Mausoleum Committee, held several positions on the Temple's Board during a fifteen-year tenure and chaired and served on many committees.  Allen recently retired as General Counsel of a local investment company. In Chicago, he served as Managing Partner of a law firm and Vice President of a local elected school board.  At TBE, Jan currently chairs Lilith Salons, coordinates a Havurah, and actively participates on the Sisterhood Board as a past president.  She has been Temple Board member at TBE and at her previous congregation.  After retiring from teaching math to raise a family in Chicago, Jan became a full-time volunteer, including working in many significant positions for ORT America in Chicago and assisting at her sons’ high school guidance office.  Allen and Jan proudly share that they have three sons, three daughters-in-law, and six grandchildren.

Elizabeth and Adam Shonson Temple Beth El of Boca Raton Beth El Bash 2020

RISING STARS - Elizabeth and Adam Shonson met in law school at the University of Florida.  While they hailed from different places (Liz from New York and Adam from Georgia), they were drawn together by their dedication to justice and commitment to Judaism and its core values.  Their connection to Temple Beth El began with their marriage by Rabbi Levin in 2007.  The Temple community immediately became their extended family with whom they have shared many milestones.  They forged strong friendships through the young couples group and through their active involvement with the Beck Family Campus, which has been a second home to their cherished children Davis (9) and Ella (6) over the past eight years.  Liz and Adam are both practicing attorneys.  Liz is a partner of Robbins Geller Rudman & Dowd LLP and Adam is In-House Counsel for Fidelity National Law Group.  They have been participants in the ADL Glass Leadership Institute and sponsors of the ADL Florida’s Strike Out Hate event for the past two years.

Gina and Greg Shugar Temple Beth El of Boca Raton Beth El Bash 2020

COMMUNITY STARS - Gina and Greg Shugar hold temple membership close to their heart.  It inspires them to see good people come together to do great things.  They met in law school and were practicing attorneys before starting TheTieBar.com together in Chicago.  Greg is currently working on Beau Ties of Vermont and The Thread Experiment.  Gina currently serves on the Temple Beth El Board as VP Engagement, the Woodfield Country Club Board and serves as a Guardian ad Litem with the Palm Beach County Court system.  Gina previously served as VP Membership at TBE and has spearheaded the New Member Chavurot program.  Gina and Greg actively participate in other community organizations, including ADL and Jewish Family Services.  Above all, their greatest accomplishment is their three children, Simon, Toni and Eli.
