Calling all knitters and crocheters - Temple Beth El is pleased to be a part of the nationwide “Spread LOVE” project, a yarn bombing installation conceptualized by the well-known street artist London Kaye. Just as graffiti has evolved into street art using paint, yarn bombing is street art using yarn.
We are looking for volunteers to help with the construction and installation of handmade pieces that we will wrap around trees. No experience is necessary. Complete instructions will be sent to all participants via email. We are looking for people to be able to do the following:
- Crochet or knit panels
- Assist beginning crocheters, either in person or via zoom
- Sew panels together - No experience required, we can teach you what to do
- Yarn or needle donations are being accepted
At the completion of this installation, you will able to call yourself not only a yarn bomber, but a craftivist (craft activist) !
In order to install our "Spread LOVE" in time for LGBTQ+ Pride Month, the deadline for submitting panels is no later than Tuesday, June 1.
Please register below for more detailed instructions.
